AFS CW Contest

The Affiliated Societies CW Contest took place yesterday afternoon between 2.00 and 6.00pm.

At least 5 SRS stations took part and will be making formal entries to the national competition.

Carston G0SYP 211 QSOs
Dave G0LZL 209 QSOs
Jay M0UNN 211 QSOs
Eric G3GMM ?? Unknown number of QSOs as he sends me a paper log!
Bernard G3SHF 211 QSOs.

Based on the above we will have 2 teams entering and the A Team will have a minimum of 8420 points claimed.

Last year we came 22nd with 6450 points.

8420 points would have given us 13th place out of 91 entries.

The overall view was that conditions and the number of UK stations available were down somewhat compared to last year.

So well done to all concerned and thank you for supporting SRS.

Next Saturday afternoon sees the AFS SSB contest between 2.00 and 6.00pm.
Rules can be found on

http://www.rsgbcc.org/hf/rules/2012/rafs.shtml

I will be operating again... who else plans to be active from SRS?

All SRS members are encouraged to operate and enter the contest - there is no limit to the numbers of club members who can enter.

But please note if you do come on for a short while don't just give SRS operators QSOs as they will be penalised. Join in the fun and work as many stations as possible in the time you have available.

Regards

Bernard G3SHF
